Dr. James B. McKenzie is a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist with an online practice in Tennessee, Massachusetts and Illinois.

Dr. James B. McKenzie is board-certified in both Adult Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. He graduated medical school from Lincoln Memorial University – Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed an adult psychiatry residency at Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School, and finished fellowship training in child & adolescent psychiatry at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago/Northwestern University. 

He is based in Nashville, TN and serves as Assistant Clinical Professor and Psychiatry Clerkship Director in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Meharry Medical College. Dr. McKenzie was born and raised in Nashville, and has lived and trained in various parts of Appalachia, Boston, Chicago, and Costa Rica. He is a non-native Spanish-speaker with years of experience working with Latino families. He enjoys cooking spicy food, family time, and tending to his houseplants.
